Ajay Kumar Sharma who was an army officer and her mother's name is Ashima Sharma who is a housewife.Mr. Karnesh who is her elder brother,was a state level cricketer and he is now in the Merchant Navy.She completed her high school studies in Army School and completed her graduation with specialization in Arts from Mount Carmel College,Bangalore.She then went to Mumbai to build up her modeling career.Sharma said that she actually wished to create it big in the modeling world,but had no strong aspiration for film.She started her modeling career at the Lakme Fashion Week as a model for Wendell Rodricks's Les Vamps Show and was picked to be Rodricks's finale model at the Spring Summer,at the year of 2007 Collection.Since then she had done campaigns for Silk & Shine,Whisper,Nathella Jewelry and Fiat Palio.

Acting Life:

Anushka Sarma's 1st acting role was in Aditya Chopra's "Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi'' in 2008,opposite Shahrukh Khan.Her 1st film had become a huge success and her performance was untalkable.Film critic Taran Adarsh said that Anushka looked the character and surprised everybody with a confident performance.It is a big achievement to share screen space with an actor of the caliber of Shahrukh Khan.Anushka managed it very well from start to end.Her second film was Badmaash Company was also under Yash Raj Films,was released on 7.5.2010.She was praised for breaking out of the shell of the conservative as well as homely Taani to play the feisty and independent Bulbul and her performance was very beautiful.Then she took two other projects on hand.She started shooting for her first venture outside of Yash Raj with Nikhil Advani and Akshay Kumar "Patiala House'' in December 2009.Patiala House scheduled to be released on February 11, 2011.When it was released,it was also succeded.She had also started acting for her third Yash Raj Film ''Band Baaja Baaraat'',directed by Maneesh Sharma and co-starring debutant Ranveer Singh,this film got huge success.
